In 2002, Hang It Simple co-founder Stuart H. Brown left behind a career in real estate and land management to dive headfirst into something completely different: running a fried chicken franchise with his brother in Florida. Over the next 20 years, they successfully built and operated five locations. One thing became clear early on — staying organized wasn’t optional, it was essential.

In the kitchen, no wall system could handle the range of tools they used daily. If a rack held a wide-handled broom, it wouldn’t hold a slim scrub brush. If it worked for a mop, it failed at a dustpan. The so-called “solutions” didn’t hold up — literally or figuratively.

So Stuart H. made his own.

The first prototype was a stainless steel plate and rubber tie-downs — held together with zip ties and ingenuity. It was rough but functional. And more importantly, it worked. The idea was simple: create one wall organizer that could flex to fit anything. From that moment forward, he was determined to turn the concept into something real.

A mutual connection introduced Stuart H. to Dale McCarthy, founder of Design Consulting Service, an award-winning product design firm based in Pensacola, Florida. With Dale’s experience in engineering, patent development, and manufacturing, the two spent four years perfecting the design into what’s now the Hang It Simple system: a modular, no-assembly-needed, made-in-the-USA solution that finally solved the wall organization problem.

Today, that same system is helping garages, homes, and workspaces everywhere make room for what matters — with strength, simplicity, and purpose.
